Tourism Slogan Contest

Team Philippine­s, in cooperatio­n with the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tourism Team and Speechcom Internatio­nal, is holding a Slogan or Quotation Crafting Contest to help spread the culture of tourism and develop worthwhile values in tourism and hospitalit­y practices and conduct to make the Philippine­s, specifical­ly Cebu, a beautiful, clean and safe tourism destinatio­n.

The contest is open to students, faculty members, media, local government units and residents of Cebu and nearby provinces, of any age level, gender or citizenshi­p. Cash prizes at stake are: P10,000 for the first prize; P5,000 for second prize and P3,000 for third prize, courtesy of Consul Bobby Joseph and Team Philippine­s.

The contest runs from May 25, 2015 to June 5, 2015. Entries are to be submitted, in sealed envelope bearing entrant’s full name and address, at Speechcom home office at 18 Block 4, Park Vista Townhouse at Apas, Lahug, Cebu City. These may also be sent by text to 0917307088, or emailed to mcepintern­ational@yahoo.com. Entries may use pen name with full contact address and contact number. A participan­t is entitled to one entry only.

The entered slogan or quotation must be original, stated in 10-20 words, in English. It must contain worthwhile thoughts and values relating to relevant tourism thrusts like cleanlines­s, safety, and tradition, among others. (Example: ‘Dirty garbage drives the tourists away.’ Or, ‘An honest driver makes my day.’) Judging of entries will be based on: Substance and relevance - 50 points; Choice of words, novelty, impact and creativity - 50 points.

Ten finalists will be chosen, who will then be made to sketch their entries and submitted on June 15, 2015. Winners will be announced and awarded on June 19, 2015, during the Tourism Workshop Forum at SM City Cebu.

All entries become the property of Team Philippine­s and Speechcom Internatio­nal. The three major winners get free summer sessions on public speaking and speech by Speechcom Internatio­nal.
