Four men with warrants arrested
Four wanted persons were arrested by the police in separate operations in the province on Saturday.
A 57-year-old man, who is wanted for the crime of rape, was arrested in a joint operation by Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-7 and the Carmen Police Station past 1 p.m. in Barangay Cogon East, Carmen.
Victor Dawa Morada, a construction worker and a native of Davao City, was arrested after intelligence reports showed that he has been hiding in Carmen town.
Chief Inspector Rene Kyamco, CIDG Cebu Province chief, coordinated with Inspector Ricardo Echavez, Carmen Police Station chief, for the possible arrest of Morada.
After they confirmed the presence of Morada in Carmen, they assembled a joint team to arrest him based on the warrant of arrest issued by Judge Roberto Buenaventura, Branch 86, Regional Trial Court in Quezon City.
He was immediately brought to the regional headquarters of CIDG-7 after his arrest and will be presented to Judge Buenaventura’s sala today.
Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man, who is wanted for acts of lasciviousness in relation to child abuse, was arrested by the police past 9 p.m. on Saturday in Barangay Poblacion, Argao.
Kerby Cahilig, was arrested after Judge Maximo Perez of Regional Trial Court Branch 26 in Argao town issued a warrant of arrest for three counts of acts of lasciviousness.
Judge Perez set a P108,000 bail for his temporary liberty. Cahilig is detained at the Argao Police Station’s lockup cell after the arrest.
Further, two siblings, who are also wanted for frustrated murder, were arrested by the police past 4 p.m. at Sitio Mohon, Barangay Luca, Balamban town.
Isiais Carburnay, 54, and his older brother Wenceslao, 58, of Matun-og, Balamban were arrested after the police learned that they were hiding in Luca.
The warrants for their arrest were issued on May 2, 2015 by Regional Trial Court Branch 29 Judge Ruben Altubar, in Toledo City.
