At least four people died in separate shooting incidents over the weekend, including a female teacher who allegedly committed suicide.

Businessman Paul Domingo, 39, of Barangay Panagdait, Mandaue City, was shot dead yesterday dawn by unidentified gunman in Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City.

Domingo, owner of a resto bar along Maria Christina Extension, pulled over his car to answer a call of nature when he was shot by a lone gunman.

SPO4 Alex Dacua, homicide investigator, said the victim was with his friend, Lyndon Cempron, when the incident happened. They were on their way home from the victim’s resto bar where they had a drinking spree.

Cempron told police investigators that the unidentified gunman approached the victim and asked if the latter still recognized him.

The victim answered that he did not recognize him anymore. After the short conversation, the man opened the rear door of Domingo’s car and took the latter’s sling bag, which started a commotion.

The unidentified man shot Domingo twice in the body before he fled. The victim was rushed to Cebu Doctors’ University Hospital where he died few hours later.

Police investigators recovered two empty shells for caliber .45 rounds at the crime scene.

Meanwhile, a woman was shot dead also by unidentified gunman in Sitio Luy-a, Barangay Luca, Balamban town last Saturday. The victim was identified as Erlinda Botar, 47.

In another shooting incident, a woman was also killed by unidentified gunman in Barangay Maslog, Danao City yesterday morning.

The victim was identified as Joy Alcansado. She was declared dead on arrival at Cebu Provincial Hospital in Danao City because of a gunshot wound in her body.

A teacher in Liloan town also died of gunshot wound in the head. Luzita Ughoc, a native of Tabuelan, Cebu, allegedly shot herself in the head using a caliber .357 revolver.
