Alta Vista sets 2 big events

Two big tournament­s are set at Alta Vista Golf and Country Club in Pardo, Cebu City to close the year 2015.

On November 21, the club’s Monthly Medal Committee headed by Engr. Willy T. Go is hosting the 1st Alta Vista Corporate Cup. This is a four-man team event that will be using the Modified Stableford Scoring System.

The November 2015 handicap will be used and all scores of the four players will count for the team total.

A team must at least have one active member in good standing and must carry the name of a business entity.

Prizes at stake will be for the top two teams of three handicap categories. Teams will be classified based on the total handicap of team members. Players, who are registered in the Unified National Handicappi­ng System (UNHS), will be required to submit a club certified handicap prior to tee off otherwise they will play with a zero handicap.

Registrati­on for the event is still ongoing and entry fee has been pegged at Php 10,000 per team. Each participan­t will get a double-canopy umbrella with the Corporate Cup logo and an exclusivel­y-designed mug.

Hole-in-one prizes for the Corporate Cup include a sixnight stay at Plantation Bay Resort and Spa, a trip to Korea from Air Busan, a Skygo motorcycle, a three-day stay in Dakak from Marist Royal Holidays Travel and Tours, a Php 50,000 cash prize from the committee, and Php 10,000 from Island Paints.

There will be two shotgun tee offs for this event at 6 a.m. and 12 noon.

ALTAVISTAF­UNGOLF

The year-end Alta Vista Fun Golf Tournament will be held on December 12 and 13. This event is exclusive to club members and guests of the sponsors.

This will be an individual event using the strokeplay format. The lowest handicap for the period of October to December 2015 will be applied.

This tournament is organized by the club’s Major Tournament Committee headed by AVGCC Director Vicente ‘Inting’Go.

Entry fee for the event has been pegged at Php 3,000 for those who will register before the end of November. Late registrant­s will be assessed Php 3,500.

For this tournament, participan­ts will have a choice of giveaways. They can choose from FootJoy shoes, Titleist messenger/computer bags or backpack, or Ogio gym bags.

There will be two shotgun tee offs per day at 6 a.m. and 12 noon.

The awards ceremony will be held at theAVGCC ballroom on December 13.
