Quota holds dance concert to raise funds for beneficiar­ies

The Region 19 of Quota Internatio­nal Inc. will present "Rhythm of the Night Dance Concert??" featuring The Loboc Youth Ambassador Band on February 27, 7 p.m. at the Oakridge Pavillion, A. S. Fortuna St. Mandaue City.

The Loboc Youth Ambassador Band is a threetime Grand Champion, Band Category of the Shanghai Internatio­nal Tourism Festival in Shanghai, China. They have come a long way since then. And their coming performanc­e is for the benefit of the Region 19 of Quota Internatio­nal Inc. and its beneficiar­ies: hard of hearing scholars of Lipata SPED School, Basak National School for the Deaf, hard of hearing athletes of Mandaue Central Integrated SPED School, students of Bantayan Central Elementary SPED School, Butuan City SPED School, Gilutongan Island Day Care Center, Children Kadasig Community Center Inc, (Dangpana), Pardo SPED School, Talibon Central School SPED, and Ciriaco Mariano Elementary School.

The Loboc Youth Ambassador Band's previous repertoire included excerpts from Return of the Jedi, In the stone, and Manhattan Skyline; Tuxedo Junction; Tequilla; Tinikling; Impossible Dream mixed with Careless Whisper, The One You Love, Can't Smile Without You, Pure Imaginatio­n, Open Arms; and China Olympic Song, and soundtrack­s from Star Wars, Live and Let Live, and Indiana Jones.

Members of the band belong to poor families and are trained for free with the help of the local government. Their instrument­s were donated by Australia.

To date, there are 164 members of the Loboc Youth Ambassador Band belonging to the first batch of students. A musical instrument is provided free to each of the 164 members for them to simultaneo­usly perform on stage. Fifty of the students of the Loboc School of Music are enrolled as scholars at the University of Bohol, Holy Name University and Central Visayas College of Agricultur­e Fishery and Technology. Buying a ticket for the dance concert will help the Quota beneficiar­ies and the members of this band.
