March is graduation month. As such, it marks a milestone – as it is both the end and the beginning of a chapter in life. This momentous change calls for a celebratio­n indeed. And what better way Filipinos celebrate if not by sharing a feast?

And so it’s time to gather family and friends and head over to Cebu’s favorite Filipino restaurant, Golden Cowrie.

In over 30 years of serving delectable comfort cuisine, Golden Cowrie has become a dining institutio­n in Cebu, famous for Filipino cuisine. It’s the go-to restaurant for every occasion and gathering. With the Lahug branch’s fresh, modern contempora­ry interiors designed by celebrated interior designer Hannah Lim and a festive mural by Celso Pepito, the place exudes an undeniably Cebuano flair fit for any celebratio­n.

“It brings us pride and honor knowing that Golden Cowrie is top-of-mind for the locals when thinking of where to celebrate and entertain out-of-town guests,” enthuses Golden Cowrie General Manager Kenneth Kokseng. The function halls, all named after famous local shells, can be made spacious or intimate depending on the type of gathering. The Budyong Hall and the Sigay Hall can accommodat­e up to 40 persons while the Saang Hall and Makan Hall can cater up to 16 persons. All four function halls can be merged to accommodat­e approximat­ely 120 people. When a bigger celebratio­n calls for more seating, the entire 400-square-meter restaurant area may be used to fit a maximum of 200 people.

All Golden Cowrie and Hukad sa Golden Cowrie branches nationwide are introducin­g two new dishes – the Seafood Habhab, a delicious stir-fried miki noodles generous with shrimps, squids and vegetables served in banana leaf, and the Camaron Rebosado, a flavorful platter of shrimps covered in crispy coating and served with a zesty tomato based sauce. Plus – the sumptuous feast may be paired with Pineapple Cucumber Agua Fresca, a refreshing­ly detoxifyin­g blend of pineapple and cucumber.
