Malaysian woman arrested for biting tanods

A Malaysian national was arrested on Black Saturday for allegedly attacking tanods of Barangay Sambag 2.

Nanthne Durga Aravatzi, 23, temporaril­y residing at 615- N Tormis Ext., Barangay Sambag 2, Cebu City, was placed un- der arrest after she allegedl y bit barangay t anods Gean Paulo Taneo, 42 and Mark Gacasan, 18.

Taneo and Gacasan said t hat while at t he Barangay Hall, they received a call from one Hipolito Lagahid at around 2:50 p.m. seeking for assistance.

Lagahid wanted help because his tenant, Aravatzi, a Biology student of one of the universiti­es in Cebu, allegedly caused trouble over a misunderst­anding about her rent.

PO3 Clifford Manogura of the Fuente Police Station said the barangay tanods tried to pacify Aravatzi but the latter allegedly attacked them by biting their hands.

Aravatzi was detained at the Tourist Police Unit pending the filing of a complaint before the Cebu City Prosecutor's Office.

Meanwhile, two minor Korean nationals lost their mobile phones and other belongings to a thief at an internet café in Barangay Talamban, also on Black Saturday.

Footage from t he Closed Circuit Television Camera showed the sus- pect, a man, entered Minesky Infinity Internet Café pretending to be a customer. He then stole the victims' Samsung Note 3 worth P25,000; Samsung Note 4 worth P20,000; power bank worth P2,000; and P2,000 cash.
