Farm worker stabbed dead

A drinking session between two farm workers led to an argument, then to a stabbing incident, which killed a 23-year-old past 2 a.m. on Easter Sunday in Barangay Bulasa, Argao town.

Jomar Torres of Barangay Duguan, Sibonga town died after suffering from several stab wounds in his chest and neck allegedly done by his co-worker in a farm, Jovy Padillo, 43, who also lives in the same town as the victim.

Police Officer 3 Benjamin Geyrosaga, desk officer of Argao Police Station, said they received a telephone call saying that a man, who killed his workmate, wanted to surrender to the police.

Police officers immediatel­y rushed to the crime scene and saw Padillo, who turned over the kitchen knife and was brought to the police station.

Geyrosaga said that on Saturday night, both the suspect and the victim were drinking inside a farm.

According to the police, Padillo said the victim threatened him but they still continued drinking until early dawn yesterday.

At 2 a.m. the victim left the suspect to sleep in a hammock inside the poultry farm.

"Nag-inom, pag-inom nila naglalis ang duha hinungdan nga kining biktima namahad… sa mga alas 2 sa kadlawon karon ang biktima nibiya natulog sa duyan sa poultry," Geyrosaga said.

He added that after the victim left, Padillo followed him and stabbed him several times on the neck and chest.

"Samtang natulog ang biktima giduslak sa liog ug dughan hinungdan sa iyang kamatayon," Geyrosaga added.

The desk officer said the suspect is now under the custody of the town police and will be charged with murder.
