Three Team Rama-allied barangay captains have ignored the memorandum of Mayor Tomas Osmeña directing them to return the ambulance and mini bus issued to their respective barangays for inventory.

General Services Office chief Ronaldo Malacora said barangays Cambinocot, Agsungot and Babag have not complied with the directive as of yesterday.

The barangay captains were given five days upon receipt of the memorandum dated July 14 to turn over the vehicles to the Equipment Repair and Maintenance Management (ERMM) of the GSO.

"Wala pamay nanguli sa tulo ka barangay," Malacora told The FREEMAN over the phone.

Malacora, however, said Barangay Babag already called up and requested for assistance to return the vehicles.

"Actually nanawag ang Barangay Babag patabang pakuha kay naay problema sa units," he said.

Malacora said they have yet to find out the problems. The two other barangays did not respond.

"Di ko katubag og ngano kay wala ta kahibalo sa ilang rason basta they are given five days after receipt," Malacora said.

The memorandum was received by the concerned barangay captains on July 22.

Malacora said the barangay officials' refusal to return the vehicles issued to them will be referred to the city lawyers to determine what legal action to take.

"I-refer sa abogado kun unsay angay buhaton, mo-ask ta nila og legal opinion," Malacora said, adding that he is just waiting for the mayor's instruction.

Osmeña earlier ordered the recall of the ambulances and mini buses from the barangays for inventory and evaluation. The mayor said it will be returned to the barangays after the inventory shall have been completed.

"There are many ambulances that are not being used. We don't even know what their running condition is. So it should be brought in. It should be evaluated," the mayor said.
