Except for those in the cities of Naga and Carcar, four police chiefs in the first district of Cebu will be reassigned.

This came following the order from the Police Regional Office-7 to reshuffle police station chiefs in the region for their failure to arrest the top 10 drug personalities in their respective jurisdictions.

The reassignment of some of the police chiefs will take effect next week.

Meanwhile, Talisay City Police Station chief Germano Mallari has been transferred to Bogo City effective yesterday.

He was replaced by Supt. Aileen Recla, formerly head of Cebu City Police Office's Investigation and Detective Management Branch.

Accompanied by Mallari himself and their immediate superior, Cebu Provincial Police Office director Jose Macanas, Recla paid a courtesy call to Talisay City Mayor Eduardo Gullas at the City Hall yesterday.

Gullas had earlier expressed disagreement on Mallari's relief.

Mallari had been assigned in Bogo City before he was assigned in Talisay City.

He said he will follow the mandate of the higher officials and that he will willingly accept any assignments that will be given to him.

In Minglanilla, Chief Insp. Franco Rudolf Oriol was also relieved from his post. He was replaced by former Balamban Police Station chief, Chief Insp. Florendo Fajardo.

Minglanilla Mayor Elanito Peña was also saddened by the news.

He said he was satisfied with Oriol's performance especially in the anti-illegal drugs campaign.

Peña said he hopes that the new police chief will continue and even intensify the fight against illegal drugs and maintain the peace and order in their town.

In San Fernando, Chief Insp. Richard Gadingan has left San Fernando Police Station and is now reassigned in Oslob. He was replaced by Insp. Diosdado Malazarte.

Malazarte was the former chief of Mandaue City Police Office's Station 5.

Gadingan, for his part, said he also does not have any problem with the reshuffling since it is a major revamp and a few of his colleagues were also reassigned.

In Sibonga, Senior Insp. Jaime Santillan was also relieved and has been transferred to Barili.

He was replaced by Senior Insp. Reynaldo Geolian, the former Alegria police chief.

On the other hand, Carcar City Police Station chief Superintendent Alvin Balio remained in his post.

"Siguro ang mga officials naa'y nakita nga wala pa nako nahuman unya humanunon nako," he said.

Naga City Police Station chief Supt. John Clark, who also remained in his post, said they will "continue to do our mandated task to enforce the law and ensure the safety of the city of Naga."
