-

It’s that time of the year again when it’s all about Swiss at Cebu City’s finest. Now on its 10th year, the Marco Polo Plaza calls on all global citizens to join an exciting week of culinary journey to Switzerland, as well as celebrate Swiss National Day.

From August 1 to 7, everyone may explore the rich culinary goodness of Switzerland at Marco Polo Plaza. Be it for lunch or dinner, diners may make time at Café Marco as the hotel’s world-class chefs recreate a complete world of Swiss goodness – from Alpine-dried beef to chocolates, cheese fondue, sausages and Zurich-style sliced meat. On Friday, August 5, Marco Polo Plaza Cebu continues its merry tradition of holding a Swiss National Festival at the Grand Balcony. From 6:30 p.m. onwards, guests may enjoy a delightful company of international friends. The night will also be graced by the honorable presence of His Excellency Hans Peter Fitze, Head of Chancery of the Embassy of Switzerland to the Philippines.

The celebration comes with a fabulous Swiss buffet spread, free-flowing drinks, great entertainment, traditional Swiss games, and lots of fun and exciting raffle prizes. The Dinner package is inclusive of unlimited sodas, chilled juices, local beer, and wines.

“To-ma-toh” or “To-may-tow”? “Po-ta-toh” or “Po-taytoh”?

To those who’ve long had a hard time figuring out how certain words in English are pronounced, a mobile application by Angle Inc. comes to the rescue.

Aptly named “Pronunciation Guide”, this mobile application guides its users in the proper way to pronounce certain English words – covering the basics of long E sounds, UR sounds, OO sounds and more.

Though primed as an interactive pronunciation guide, the app also doubles as an English vocabulary enrichment tool – so it’s a useful app for those who have a hard time pronouncing certain words in English.
