KC Concepcion's sister wins Miss Earth Sweden

KC Concepcion’s half-sister Cloie Syquia Skarne was crowned Miss Earth Sweden on Monday, August 29 (Pacific time).

KC confirmed this herself on her Twitter account, saying that her sister’s childhood dream has finally come true.

On Cloie’s Instagram account, she thanked everyone who supported her in the competition.

“I would not have been who I am today without you,” the daughter of Gabby Concepcion and Jenny Syquia wrote.

The 22-year-old is studying Chinese Language and Entrepreneurship at the University of Stockholm, where she is also an incoming Student Council president.

Cloie used to work as a private English teacher for children, as an events host and is the face of clothing lines and consumer products on the side.

An enterprising individual and a philanthropist, Cloie founded and runs a company which donates 10 percent of its earnings to charity. She loves to paint and cook since she was still a kid. She is also an ambassador of Operation Smile Philippines.

Cloie will be up against other Miss Earth beauty queens, including the Philippines’ representative, Imelda Schweighart from Puerto Princesa City in the Miss Earth finals which will be staged October in the Philippines.—
