Casili scores grandslam in Consolacion caging

Cyril Sabellana shone the brighest as Casili dominated Tugbongan, 6756, to complete a rare gradslam feat in the SK juniors category A of the 6th Mayor Teresa P. Alegado Fiesta Basketball League in Consolacion, Cebu.

Casili's top gunner Sabellana also basked in the glow of a personal three-peat having swept the Finals and regular season MVP awards in the league since 2014.

He finished with 18 points. Rey Gonzaga Jr. and Dwight Gonzaga connived for 23 points for Casili, which kept Tugbongan at bay after cruising to a hot 20-11 start.

Casili closed the first half with a 39-27 lead, then further battered Tugbongan in the third on the way to post a commanding 21point advantahe, 57-36, going into the last 10minute mark.

Jerson Tumongha paced Tugbongan with 23 points but got no sufficient support from the rest of his teammates.

Games of the monthlong tournament are under the supervision of commissioner Paul Alelu Q. Flores, a former standout of the FEU Tamaraws alongside PBA superstrar MVP Arwind Santos during their UAAP days. He is assisted by deputy commissioner Aurelio Eslawan.

The overall committee chairman of the event is Liga ng mga Barangay President Roy Linaboc. He is co-chaired by SB members Marilou P. Casul and Benjamin "Boy" Tibon.

Held to spice up Consolacion's fiesta celebration in honor of their beloved patron San Narciso on October 29, the annual tilt is supported by Consolacion LGU led by Mayor Teresa Alegado and Vice Mayor Dr. Rey Damole along with SB members JoyJoy Alegado, Nelia Ermac, Elenito Palang, Brando Cuizon, Victor Maglasang and Alfie Ouano.—
