Miss Universe opens global voting
Before anyone can even xpress their concern as to whether Miss Philippines Maxine Medina should get an interpreter or not, she eeds to earn a spot in the op 12 semifinals first.
And pageant fans need not leave that ecision to the judges as they can send axine and any of the other 85 Miss niverse candidates into the Top 12 with everal voting options online starting esterday until Saturday, January 28.
Fans will be able to vote up to 0 times per day per registered ccount on vote.missuniverse.com, he official Miss U App, on Twitter y using #MissUniverse and the ountry specific hashtag found on the oting site, or by downloading the ew mobile messaging app, Vodi.
The role of playing virtual judge in he Miss Universe pageant does not end here as fans will again have the pportunity to continue voting during the telecast of the Miss Universe grand coronation scheduled on January 30 at 8 a.m., Philippine time.
For each round of the competition, viewers will have 10 votes to distribute amongst the semifinalists, ultimately allowing them to help choose the winner of Miss Universe.
As the Miss Universe organization has made slight but significant changes for this year’s pageant, fans are given more opportunities to get to know the contestants, their accomplishments, interests, and objectives for wanting to become the next Miss Universe.
The semifinals will begin with the announcement of the Top 12 which will then be trimmed down to the Top 9 to be determined by the average score of the judges and fan voting following the swimsuit competition.
After the evening gown competition, the Top 9 will be further cut to the Top 6 who will then compete for the crucial and lone question and answer portion. From then on, the final 3 who will undergo a “Final Look” will then be determined again by the judges’ average score and, yes, total number of fan votes.
