“Star Wars: Episode VIII” nally has a title: “The Last edi.”

The Walt Disney Co. nnounced the title for the next hapter in the Skywalker saga n Monday. “Star Wars: The ast Jedi” will be released ecember 15.

“We have the greatest fans this or any other galaxy. In ppreciatio­n of the fans, we anted them to be the first to now the title of the next hapter in the Skywalker saga: Star Wars: The Last Jedi’,” ovie studio Disney said in a atement.

In an interview Monday at the Sundance Film Festival, Hamill said he liked that the title was “straightfo­rward” and “minimalist.”

“They told us that when we were making the movie and I said don’t tell me these things. I talk in my sleep,” said Hamill. “They have us so jacked up with paranoia over leaks.”

Writer-director Rian Johnson has previously said “Episode VIII” will start right where “The Force Awakens” left off.

The cast for the movie will also include “Force Awakens” members John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie and Andy Serkis. They will be joined my new cast members Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern and newcomer Kelly Marie Tran.

Carrie Fisher shot all of her scenes as Princess Leia for the movie before her sudden death in December of a heart attack, Disney said at the time of her passing.
