Tom: ‘Big people’ behind ‘Tomas vs Digong’ spin
Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña believes that there are several “big people” who are behind the “black propaganda” against him, though he did not name names.
Osmeña, who just arrived from his personal trip yesterday, said that this black propaganda against him is establishing an “Osmeña against Duterte” issue.
“If they want to fight me, fine. You might be bigger. I don’t care. But I don’t fight to lose,” the mayor said when asked during a press conference for a message to his detractors.
Osmeña said he still has a good relationship with the president especially that they are one in fighting tax evaders and illegal drug syndicates.
In one of the post of “Bisaya Na Pud” Facebook page, the group presented the difference between Duterte and Osmeña.
Duterte’s column shows that the president graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science at the Lyceum of the Philippines; Law degree from San Beda College of Law; and has served as a special counsel at the Davao City Prosecution Office.
On Osmeña’s column, the only description was that he is the grandson of the late president Sergio Osmeña, Sr.
“Something to add to the left column (I graduated from college by the way, in Mindanao no less): in addition to getting the Ten Outstanding Young Men award for best leader under 40, I was also elected Chairman of the League of City Mayors in 1992 despite being one of the youngest members. And do you know who voted for me? One Mayor Rody Duterte,” Osmeña said on his official Facebook post.
Osmeña believed that he and Duterte are “very similar” particularly with their aim to eradicate illegal drugs, in the city for him and the entire country for Duterte.
The mayor said he is also cheering on the statement of the president to throw all tax evaders out of the helicopter.
“Mas isog gyud siya. I admire him (Duterte),” Osmeña said. To recall, Osmeña said Presidential Assistant for Visayas Michael Lloyd Dino is behind the string of cases that the former is facing before the Office of the President.
But Dino denied the allegation of Osmeña, saying that he has several projects on his table and politics is not among these.
