Cebu’s First “Namaste Run”
Actress and fitness advocate Bubbles Paraiso guiding the yoga-run-yoga event participants through a beginner yoga routine More than a hundred fitness enthusiasts and professional athletes participated in the first "Namaste Run" in Cebu on Saturday, May 13.
Held in the Cebu Business Park area, the event began with a yoga/stretching session at The Terraces of the Ayala Center Cebu – followed by a two-kilometer run from and back to the Terraces. The run was led by Jaymie Pizarro, the first Filipino to take part in all major marathons worldwide.
Following the run was a yoga session with actress and fitness advocate Bubbles Paraiso. She guided the event participants through basic yoga routines, and also discussed some advanced yoga stances for the advanced yoga participants.
A part of the "GoWell" campaign of Sun Life Financial, the "Namaste Run" took after the first "Namaste Run" held in Makati in January. It was a community-oriented approach in promoting health and fitness.
The only Cebuano President of the Philippines, Don Sergio Osmeña, Sr., retired to the house after his term. The former president lived there until his death on October 19, 1961. It now hosts of a large collection of memorabilia of the former President, as well as art collections from the College of Assurance Plan, from pictures and articles, clothes and personal effects, furniture and even his Cadillac. The house is now known as the Don Sergio Osmeña Sr. Memorabilia and CAP Art Gallery.
