CPPO finalist for best police office
The Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) is a finalist for the Best Provincial Police Office in the country for 2017 along with Sorsogon and Bulacan provincial police offices.
The search for best provincial police office has been held annually as part of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Police Service anniversary celebration in August.
CPPO Director Police Senior Superintendent Eric Noble said that this is the first time Cebu's provincial police office has been included in the top 3.
"Nabigla ako pero masaya. We are one of those three provincial police offices na pagpipilian. Kung sino ang mananalo, iyon yung magiging winner ng best provincial office," Noble said.
Noble said that it is CPPO's strong campaign against illegal drugs that got the attention of PNP headquarters.
"Alam nyo naman ang pinaggagawa natin, marami tayong nahuli, iyung 50,000 drug surrenderees, may 120 drug cleared barangays tapos ngayon may additional 40 barangays na naman," Noble said.A team from the national headquarters began the validation process at CPPO last Monday.
Internal Affairs Service Deputy Inspector General Leo Angelo Leuterio arrived yesterday afternoon at the CPPO headquarters to lead the final inspection and validation.
The validation includes reviewing the accomplishments of the provincial office from the administration to all of its operation.
In addition, the Provincial Public Safety Company of CPPO is also among the finalists for Best Public Safety Company. CPPO's Senior Police Officer 1 Maria Flordeliza Realista is a finalist for Best Police Commissioned Officer for Administration and Police Officer 3 Philip Restauro for Best Police Commissioned Officer for Operation.
The Best Provincial Police Office 2017 will be awarded by President Rodrigo Duterte during the Police Service anniversary celebration in Camp Crame on August 8. —
