Selina Sevilla and her beauty castle

Many of us are no strangers to forks in the road, and for jukebox singer turned aesthetician Selina Sevilla, taking the road less travelled has made all the difference.

After studying in European accredited schools as well as in other parts of the country, Selina – a performer known for her sexy songs “Nilunok Ko Ang Lahat,” “Ibaon Mo,” and “Aray Naku” – has since dedicated herself to an entirely different undertaking.

Since becoming resident director at ML Calayan Medical Center at Oakridge Pavillion in Mandaue City, Selina, alongside her partner Lalen Calayan, is finally taking the reins with her very own aesthetic center, Selina’s Castle of Beauty and Wellness.

The center, which held its grand launch last July 16 at the West Strip of Parkmall, is in partnership with her long-time friends, the Lhuilliers and backed up by the Calayan Medical Group.

Selina’s clinic is geared towards providing five-star services to people from all walks of life for less—a concept Selina thought of, which is why the support she’s gotten from partners means a lot to her.

“In our clinic, everybody is welcome because even before, I have always been a singer for the masses,” Selina begins in an interview, joking that her dream of building her own aesthetic hub began when she herself wanted to be beautiful.

Selina shares how she wants to change the mindset that only the wealthy can pamper and take care of themselves. In her mission of welcoming everyone into her center, the singer wants everyone to be comfortable and well taken care of regardless of their background.

The clinic – which features services like facial and body treatments, slimming services, sauna, and more—is also aimed for the family to enjoy with treats for parents and kids alike.

“Personally, it’s happiness for me. I love seeing clients walk out with a change of outlook and with more confidence,” shares Selina, adding how she feels fulfilled when clients become lighthearted and leave the center with more self-esteem than when they came in, so much that the 45-year-old dubs it her calling and passion.

Despite having laser focus on becoming the beauty fairy godmother of her hub, Selina misses singing—something that she calls her first love.

But the biggest risk she’s taken since leaving that path was how to make do with her time given that she has a lot on her plate with being a mother, an aesthetician, a PR and marketing woman, and now an owner of her own aesthetic center.

“Of course, I miss singing. It’s my first love! I miss the barangay tours and the fiestas as a singer of the masses,” revealed Selina, who held a concert last night called “Songs from the Heart” in Mandaue City.

Until the next musical venture, Selina has her sights on the clinic: hands on and immersed into making everyone’s beauty wish come true.
