A man who allegedly uses his chicharon and ampao (sugared puffed rice) business as a front for his illegal drug trade was nabbed in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Siervas, Poblacion 1, Carcar City, yesterday at 5:30 a.m.

Glenn Alcoceba, 47, was arrested in his own residence by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7 (PDEA-7).

Alcoceba is considered a high value target according to PDEA-7 Spokesperson Leia Albiar.

Confiscated from Alcoceba were two packs of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 55 grams and valued at P275,000.

Albiar also said that Alcoceba had been under surveillance for a week after his name came up during interviews with previously arrested drug personalities from Carcar.

Alcoceba, allegedly got his source of illegal drugs from New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa and his area of distribution covered Carcar, San Fernando and other neighboring towns.

Albiar added that Alcoceba could dispose some 200-300 grams of suspected shabu every week.

“Hopefully nakahimo ta og dent didto sa Carcar based sa atong pag-arrest ni Glenn, pero mao na dili nato undangan kay possible nga og naa’y nakuha naa sa’y mupuli so dili nato undangan ang monitoring didto sa area,” said Albiar.
