Kian's death has to be investigated

-

The people of the United States of America has become so politically divided to the point that white supremacists have returned, neo-Nazis are able to hold rallies, and blacks and whites have become so far apart it would make you wonder what happened to America after the Civil War. Then came Charlottesville! Today the fad in American cities is to topple down Confederate statues like that of Gen. Robert E. Lee and many others. How sad that this is happening to America today!

However, yesterday there was an event in America that once more united the people of the United States, and that's the solar eclipse that swept across the US mainland from coast to coast, which last occurred 99 years ago. I gathered that even US Pres. Donald Trump went out of the White House to witness this rare total eclipse. Lest you have forgotten, the ancients regard such a cosmic event with foreboding for things to come. It makes me scramble and check my history books as to what could have been prophesied in the future which this total solar eclipse serves as a warning?

Barring any untoward events, in just a couple of month on October 13, 2017, the Catholic faithful will be celebrating the 100th year of the last apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the Cova de Ira in Fatima, Portugal. We've already written a lot of articles about the apparitions in Fatima and the request of the Blessed Virgin Mary for the conversion of Russia (lest you have forgotten, Russia still belongs to the Orthodox Christianity which split from the Holy Roman Church in 1054). This special request by the Blessed Virgin Mary remains unheeded by the Vatican, which is why today the world has not seen the promised World Peace if and when Russia is converted into the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The 34th anniversary of the assassination of the late Sen. Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr. was apparently used by the yellow cult to stage a protest rally at the EDSA Shrine to cry for justice over the killing of 17-yearold Kian delos Santos last August 20. But last Monday, my friends in Facebook showed many photos of how small that protest rally was for Kian. While I submit that there is a loud outcry for justice for Kian, the yellowtards once again made the glaring mistake of using the death anniversary of Ninoy Aquino Jr. as their launching pad for this protest.

The yellow organizers should have already learned their lessons that protest marches along EDSA no longer appeal to many people simply because of the huge traffic in EDSA that wasn't there 30 years ago. These organizers should also have checked the weather and indeed I was still in Manila last Monday and the weather was very bad. It rained all day!

No doubt that the killing of Kian needs to be investigated. Unfortunately, the opposition belonging to the Liberal Party is using his death as a catalyst to discredit Pres. Rodrigo "Digong" Duterte and his war against illegal drugs. But no less than Pres. Duterte himself acknowledged that the War on Drugs cannot be won in just one year and as he recently admitted, it cannot even be won in six years. As expected the yellowtards came up in a chorus demanding the president resign as he cannot tackle the drug problem. Of course the yellowtards are silent when he threw back to them that the drug menace worsened during the six-year term of their idol, former president Benigno "PNoy" Aquino III.

But in what I would say is a change of policy, no less than Pres. Duterte himself promised that if the investigation into the killing of Kian proves that he was murdered by the police, those involved in his killing would "rot in jail!" This is a far cry from what the police did to Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa in the Baybay City Jail last November 2016. This was a departure from his previous policy on issues involving the police. Unfortunately thanks to our politicians who are trying to polarize the issue rather than get to the truth whether or not Kian was truly a drug courier, it still doesn't justify that the police should kill him.
