Convergys, Lexmark, Contact Solutions and QBE ease through semis

Two-time defending champion Convergys Converters eased through the semifinal round together with the Lexmark Stallions, QBE Generals and Contact Solutions Flying Lemurs in the Tanduay Athletics CSCC E-Leagues for Basketball last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Jaime Pacquiao scored 17 on top of four rebounds as the Converters proceeded into the round of four in the Elite Classic with a 94-44 massacre of the hapless ePerformax Reds, while the Stallions also advanced after knocking out the Supportsav­e Dragons, 82-69.

Kenneth Dysam added 14 points, four rebounds and two steals, Aldene Jay Batino had 11 points, four rebounds and two assists, while Primo Paloma chipped in 10 points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists for the Converters, who bombed the Reds right from start, 35-6.

The Converters kept their relentless offensive until the closing seconds of the match to come up with an eye-popping 50-point rout.

Robert Gilo was the lone bright spor for the Reds with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

In the other game, Sylvester Millevo had a breakout performanc­e of 32 points laced with five rebounds and two steals as the Stallions terminated the Supportsav­e Dragons, 82-69.

Siegfred Ofonda scattered 16 points spiked with five rebounds, five assists and four steals, while Jake Pia tossed in 12 points and eight rebounds for the Stallions, who used a solid third-quarter show to seize full control of the match. They never looked back taking 6049 edge heading into the final period.

In the Evo League, the Flying Lemurs rode on the allaround performanc­e of Roberto Castro Jr. to kick out the Teletech Titans, 53-48, while Johnrey Girasol and Foot Stuart powered the Generals to a 67-53 whacking of the Dyninno Jets to book a semis berth.

Castro finished with 12 points, 14 rebounds, eight blocks, three assists and two steals in an all-around performanc­e for the Flying Lemurs, who fought with grace under pressure to fend off the starbborn Titans.

On the other hand, Girasol charted 22 points, five rebounds and two steals, while Stuart banged in 20 points and two steals for the Generals, who were in full command after sprinting to a 67-53 start.—
