The Mandaue City government will extend financial aid to the bereaved family of the 25-year-old woman who was beheaded by her common-law husband last Sunday.

Lovely Jane Quiño was beheaded by her live-in partner, Dominic Pahugot, 27, in their house in Sitio Libo, Tayud, Consolacion town last Sunday. He said CSWS will still assess the needs of Quiño’s family, who hails from Barangay AlangAlang, Mandaue City.

What the city government can offer to the family for now is basic needs, such as rice and canned goods, as well as burial assistance, he said.

CSWS will also conduct stress debriefing sessions for the couple’s five children, ages nine, five, three, two, and a fourmonth-old infant, to help them recover from the trauma of experiencing the loss of loved ones.

Quiño’s three-yearold daughter saw her own father beheads her mom.

“Kun ang mga bata wala na’y moatiman nila, ang custody ana kay kuhaon namo. Naa man mi temporary shelter didto sa CSWS para sa mga bata nga wala na’y makaatiman nga ginikanan," Perez said.

Moreover, the Capitol will also give P30,000 in financial aid — P20,000 as financial assistance and P10,000 as burial assistance — to Quiño’s family.
