The manager of the Cebu South Bus Terminal was designated as supervisor of the Larsian food strip near Fuente Osmeña effective today.
Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III directed Joey Herrera to also manage the operations of the food strip on top of his responsibilities at the terminal.
“In the exigency of the service and in addition to your present duties, you are hereby directed to supervise the daily operations of Larsians,” reads the memorandum.
Herrera will temporarily supervise Larsian after the retirement of Carmen “Beauty” Quijano.
Herrera said he will meet with all food stall owners at Larsians within 10 days to hear their concerns. Even before his takeover,

He said he wants to meet with the barbeque stall owners to also hear their concerns with the management so he can address it.
During the budget hearing last week, Herrera said, the Capitol plans to renovate and rehabilitate the food park to make “Cebuanos patronize Larsian again.”
Several improvements will be implemented on the drainage system, sanitation, and parking space beside Larsian with the P2 million budget from the development fund of the provincial government.
Herrera said they also plans to buy two water tanks with 2,000 and 6,000 cubic meter capacity in order to provide enough water supply in the area.
With the plan renovation and rehabilitation, Herrera said, he will also bring up to the food stall owners the need to temporarily close Larsian.
“We have to sacrifice for two months aron ma fasttrack ang rehabilitation ug renovation,” Herrera said.
He added that one thing that he will look into is the contract of the concessionaires.
Herrera said they are now coordinating with the Cebu City Health Office for the sanitation inspection and ensure that food handling training or seminar is required before business permit is granted.
