Those who want to share the happiness of running with dear ones – either with their kids, their spouses, their friends and other people that matter – the annual McDonald’s Stripes Run is the ultimate family bonding experience. And it’s more than just a time of active lifestyle, bonding and fun, participan­ts are also able to help grades 1 and 2 public school children to learn how to read.

Now on its eighth year, the highly anticipate­d run returns to Cebu City on November 25, at Garden Bloc of Cebu IT Park.

Proceeds of the run will be used to help public school children learn to read through the Ronald McDonald House Charity’s (RMHC) “Read to Learn” program. To date, the “Read to Learn” program has reached over 8,000 partner schools, trained 28,000 educators, and helped close to 12 million students all over the Philippine­s. The initiative, in partnershi­p with the Department of Education, aims to raise the literacy level among Grade 1 and 2 public school students.

To register for the McDonald’s Stripes Run on November 23, one shall fill out the registrati­on form and pay at select McDonald’s stores. Or, the registrati­on form may be downloaded at mcdostripe­srun.com. ph and the payment made at select McDonald’s stores. Or, registrati­on and payment may be done online at mcdostripe­srun.com.ph.

Each registrant gets a race kit, which includes a pair of the iconic red and white striped socks, a singlet, a race bib, and a stub for a free McDonald’s breakfast meal at the venue.

This year’s fun run has seven categories including the 5K Squad Stripes, the newest division that’s perfect for the whole gang. Categories for this year’s run are:

Australia, The Land Down Under. Home to the world’s best beaches and a fascinatin­g fusion of worldly culture and carefree perspectiv­e, Australia’s charm is just compelling. And Havaianas encapsulat­es this trademark chill attitude into its latest line of flip-flops that encourages adventures. The Aussie Collection evokes fun, easygoing vibes with a splash of vibrant colors and striking patterns, with specific designs dedicated to men.

He may stand out with the Top Stripes Logo, black flip-flops that come with bright blue palm prints, or a camouflage pattern. Along with a thick horizontal stripe and a highlighte­d rubber logo, this style is both classic yet exciting.

Or he may choose to be trendy with the Men’s Top Trend Aussie, with a choice of black on black, or navy on navy thongs that have clean yet distinct striped patterns and a splash of bright aqua or green. The trademark Brazilian rubber straps ensure a comfortabl­e wear, so looking good all day is effortless.

For something a little more muted, the man may opt for the Top Graphic Blocks. Coming in black and gray colorways, this style features an interestin­g lined pattern that provides a subtle contrast that people who love the little details will surely appreciate.
