Adlawan shines in Lapu-Lapu Supercross

Multi-titled Cebuano daredevil Jon-Jon Adlawan stole the spotlight after securing a 1-3 finish in the Man and Machine-organized Lapu-Lapu Supercross at the Mactan Newtown in Lapu-Lapu City the other day.

Adlawan topped the pro open division after edging JB Bacabac, while fellow Cebuano rider JubenileAb­ellar wound up third. He also landed third in the expert category dominated by Donark Yuson.

Motocross legend Pepo Rubi made his presence felt after prevailing over Nonoy Reluya and Nelson Sicad to grab the 50-above expert crown. He also had a runner-up finish in the veterans class won by Rex Barbaso.

Barbaso is actually the lone rider with a double title as he also ruled the 40-above expert race after beating Dexter Bacabac.

Reluya, for his part, did not go home empty-handed as he reigned supreme in the novice 50-above action. Eirjun Codiniera lorded it over in the novice open and Dan Cordero in novice 40-above age group.

On the other hand, Dongkey Sanchez made an impressive comeback after focusing on cycling in the last two years by ruling the open enduro class. John Hisoler took the first runner-up honors.

In the lone ladies battle, Hannah Teogongco bagged the champion's trophy after outclassin­g Tiffany Manapao and RK Cuesta.

The rest of the winners wereJVLim(intermedia­teclass), Willie Borces (underbone), JK Gualiza (beginners), Nino Basco(peewee), Lhaz Nadela (peewee 50cc), Warren Olanda (special event) and Renante Tigue (buggy 4x4 action). —
