“I Got Stung” Featuring Piolo Pascual
After the well-received jazz musical “Frankly Speaking” in 2014, Ayala Center Cebu staged “I Got Stung” at The Terraces last December 9.
The performance featured some of the best dancers from Steps Dance Project who gracefully strutted to the tunes of Sting’s most popular hits. The mesmerizing ballet acts were set in the woods which were indicated by the elaborately and intricately designed backdrop.
Guest star and heartthrob Piolo Pascual serenaded the audience with covers of some of Sting’s greatest hits, “If You Love Somebody Set ‘Em Free,” “Roxanne,” and “Fragile.” He also shared how Sting played a big part of his life. “I grew up in the 80s; I grew up singing his songs; he’s the greatest storyteller of all time.”
The show was choreographed and directed by veteran jazz dancer and choreographer James Laforteza.
Some of the guests who flew in for the event were Steps Dance Studio founder Sofia Elizalde, Patxi Elizalde, Philippine Tatler Traveller editor-at-large Mia Borromeo, Nikki Menchaca and show director James Laforteza.
