The Cebu City Transportation Office has prepared the 1.5-hectare city-owned property at the South Road Properties where vehicles and motorcycles caught counter-flowing will be impounded for 30 days.

“Daghang misaway kay nganong 30 days ang pag-impound pero ang importante ani is makainstill ta og disiplina ug labaw na sa tanan nga mo-save og life,” Ouano said.
The mayor was supposed to sign the executive order yesterday but he had to go out of town.

Among the priority areas are General Maxilom Avenue, Escario Street, Gorordo Avenue, V. Rama Street, and N. Bacalso Avenue.
“Dili pwede manakop ang mag-man sa traffic kay para makaensure nga smooth gihapon ang traffic flow bisan og magdakop ta,” he said.
Aside from having their vehicles impounded, drivers who will be caught counter-flowing will be fined P500.

Lapu-Lapu Mayor Paz Radaza likes the rule and said the city government will study the possibility of implementing the same in Lapu-Lapu.
Radaza said implementing a strict order against the motorists or vehicles that counterflow may help solve traffic congestion in the city.
"Maayo baya (siya ipatuman). We will look into it. Ato nang istudyohan. Mao na i-discuss sa traffic department considering with the (roadside) diggings sa MCWD (Metro Cebu Water District)," Radaza told reporters yesterday.
Radaza noted that the roads going to Barangay Mactan, as well those from Barangay Basak to Barangay Marigondon, are the areas where vehicles counter-flow.
“(Mga) accidents pud, usa pud na sa atong gitanaw,” she added.
Recently, Mandaue City Mayor Luigi Quisumbing said he will explore the possibility of regulating the counterflow of vehicles in Mandaue City.
