The Regional Trial Court has convicted a man for allegedly pimping two women, including his livein partner.

Judge Soliver Peras of Branch 10 sentenced the accused, a resident of Cebu City, to 20 to 40 years imprisonment after he was found guilty for violating Republic Act 10364 otherwise known as Expanded Anti-trafficking in Persons Act.

"Accused was caught in flagrante delicto offering two women for sexual services to the decoy customer during an entrapment operation," read the decision.

The FREEMAN withheld the names of the parties to protect the identity of the victims.

The suspect was arrested on December 3, 2014 at around 3 a.m. at Juana Osmeña St., Cebu City.

Police Officer 2 Glenn Surban, a decoy customer, testified that prior to the entrapment operation, they received information that the accused was pimping women.

While inside a vehicle parked along Juana Osmeña St., accused approached him and offered sexual services for P500.

Two women then approached him.

Surban gave the P500 to the accused. The two women then boarded the vehicle.

After the transaction was completed, the accused was arrested.

Surban's testimony was corroborated by his colleagues.

For his defense, accused denied the allegations saying he was mistakenly identified by the police.

Allegedly, Paclibar has been supplying illegal drugs in his barangay and other towns in Bantayan, Police Superintendent Virgilio Bayonon earlier said.

Aside from Paclibar, his brother, Jose Leo, 64, a resident of Hilotongan; his cousin, Reynold Villacrusis, 48, a resident of Barangay Yati, Liloan town, were also arrested.

To prove that one of the alleged victims is his live-in partner, he presented a birth certificate of their child during trial.

With the foregoing facts, Peras ruled in favor of the police citing they were presumed to be in regular performance of their official duties.

"...this court finds the same (police) to be straightforward, spontaneous, direct, concise, and devoid of contradictions," read the decision. possession of dangerous drugs.

In an inquest proceeding, both Jose Leo and Villacrusis opted not to undergo a preliminary investigation to answer the allegations filed against them. They manifested to face the charges in court.

Emia said they are still waiting for the release of the Information from the Prosecutor's Office. Once released, cases will be filed before the Regional Trial Court in Bogo City.

Meanwhile, Paclibar's wife, Annie, 57 was also arrested during the operation for obstruction.

She allegedly interfered in the operation and did not want for the operatives to arrest her husband.
