HC Kings score 7-0 sweep, ease through MSBC semis

The Hard Court Kings rolled past Silogan Ni Gian in overtime, 75-68, in a battle of unbeaten teams in the Monday Squad BasketballCebu (MSBC) Season 3 at the Casals Village gym in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.

Adrian Lao sparkled with 21 points, Randy de la Pisa added 19, while team owner Mark Anthony Ynoc chipped in 13 markers as the Hard Court Kings gained an automatic entry into the semifinals for completing a seven-game sweep in the elimination round.

Jayson Morata had 20 points, while Proctoso Minoza and Neil Minoza had 21 combined points for Silogan Ni Gian, which saw its five-game winning streak come to a sudden red stop. They are still at second spot though and is already assured of a final four berth.

In the other game, the Spartans bolstered their semifinal chances after crushing the Rams, 82-59. They are currently at third spot with a 4-2 win-loss record.

Aristotle Alcos scored 16 and Kevin Labay finished with 10 points for the Spartans, who kept the Rams at bay after closing the first half with a 44-28 advantage. They further ripped the game apart with an 18-9 blast in the third period.

Meanwhile, In This Corner (ITC) led by James Cabilino, Kevin Quilantang and Noel Torrefiel is in a tugof-war battle with Ball Is Life manned by Garex Puerto, Epoi Cabahug and Mario Suarez the fourth and final spot in the semis. ITC currently totes a 22 record, while BIL has a 3-3 mark.
