Cebu City – The Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino is proud to announce and welcome five new executives to their respective field of expertise.
Mr. Edwin Acuyan
now sits as a Food & Beverage
Director. He finished a degree in Hotel and
Restaurant Management from the International
Correspondence School
Saipan, C.N.M.I., USA.
Edwin, a multilingual and certified F&B
Trainer by Constance
Hospitality Academy
European Standards, started his professional career as a French Fine Dining Waiter at the Diamond Hotel and climbed the career ladder with various experiences in hotels, restaurants, and cruise liners from here and abroad. These experiences initially led him to Palau, Micronesia and joined 5-Star Palau Royal Resort and worked as Food & Beverage Manager for more than three years. He has also served G-8 Summit of Presidents for United Nations and worked with Trader’s Hotel by Shangi-La and Nikko Hotels International. In 2015, he finally decided to return home and rejoined where he first started, the Diamond Hotel as F&B Manager before sharing his passion for excellence in the Food and Beverage industry at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino as F&B Director. Edwin is responsible for the planning, organizing, controlling and directing the overall operations and resources for Food and Beverage in terms of ensuring profitability, productivity and delivery of quality products and services.
The Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino Sales team also has a new member of the family, their Sales Director, operator in Manila Midtown. She has had a couple of experiences also working for various hotels; from being a front desk associate to being an executive secretary in one of FRALPA Manila Hotel. Prior to joining the hotel, Tine held the position of Business Development Manager concurrent Head of Sales at Cebu Parklane International Hotel for more than five years. Her competence in the Sales Department and her profound experience from previous hotels she worked with is definitely an advantage in handling and leading the hotel’s sales team. 2011 and started her career with the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino in October 2011 as Conventions & Events Coordinator and soon got promoted to the supervisory post. She then grabbed the opportunity to work at Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa and became one of its Events Executives, then later on as Events Manager. After adequate exposures in her area of specialization, Sofia rejoined where she started off, Cebu’s premier events destination, the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

Specialist, Certified
Security Professional and a neconsesau agent on explosives, now sits as Safety &
Security Manager of the
Waterfront Cebu City
Hotel and Casino. He first joined Waterfront
Insular Hotel Davao family way back in
2004 and also had various roles in the security team of different companies in other parts of the country such as the People Support Cebu and the Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino. For a year, Gene, as he is fondly called, ventured in a resort at the Republic of Maldives as Security Manager of Kanuhura Resort and Spa. Deciding to go back home, he chose the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino and now leads the Safety & Security Team.
