A 43-year-old woman driving an electronic bike was hit and killed by a motorcycle yesterday morning along the National Highway in Barangay Atabay, Alcoy, Cebu.

Police Officer 2 Alejandrino Dayaganon Jr., said the victim, Analyn Anor, a resident of the same barangay, and the motorcycle driver Marvin Aguilar, 24, were both headed south when the accident happened.

Witnesses to the incident told the police Aguilar was behind Anor when she suddenly turned left.

Aguilar was caught offguard and his motorcycle crashed into the electronic bike.

Anor was thrown to the pavement and suffered several injuries, including severe head trauma that later caused her death.

"Ang kani’ng E-bike kay nikalit ra man daw og liko mao’ng nakuratan siguro ang suspek nga nagsunod wala dayon naka-control mao’ng naigo niya," said Dayaganon.

It was Aguilar himself who brought the victim to the nearest hospital in Dalaguete town but Dayaganon said the victim did not make it there alive.

Dayaganon said that they discovered Aguilar had no legal documents for himself and his motorcycle. The motorcycle also did not have license plates.

"Wala’y lisensiya, wala’y rehistro ang motor, wala sab og plaka," Dayaganon said.

Aguilar is now temporarily detained in the Alcoy Police Station lock-up cell while the family of the victim has yet to decide whether or not to file a case against the suspect.

The police also found out that the victim and the suspect are related.
