Cebu City Open airsoft tourney draws 15 teams

The kick off leg of the 2018 Cebu City Airsoft Open Series slated on April 7-8 at the Sugbu grounds in South Road Properties has attracted 15 teams all over the country.

These are the Bais Airsoft Club (BAC) of Negros Occidental, Crack Legion-Cebu and Iloilo of WU Laborada, Pwersa Mindanao Airsofters (PMA) of AJ Legaspi, ML Loaded of Denjie Arcenas, Deep Recon of McCoy Boiser, and the Band of Airsofters (BOA).

Also joining the action are the Special Action Airsoft Team (SAAT), Team Eagle (formerly CHAT) of Kicker Ko, Mizrach of Ge L Co, Trident Knight of Jack Basanez, Airsoft Force of the Philippine­s (AFP) of Siegfred Minoza Borces, Yawcoy of Spike Morales, Force of Luzon (FOL), and the Azkals.

Ian Luga, a member of the organizing committee, said the 21-man team competitio­n billed as ‘Operation:Fallout’ will follow a single round robin format.

Trophies and plaques of recognitio­n will be given away to the top performing teams of the two-day shootfest backstoppe­d by the city government of Cebu through the initiative of deputy mayors for sports Jun Gabuya and Jerry L. Guardo and sports commission­er Alan Borres Delantar.

Held in collaborat­ion with the Southern Cebu Airsoft Recon (SCAR) led by Jeson L. Guardo and Guadalupe Airsoft Team (GAT) headed by Teban Baylon, councilor Jerry Guardo said it is just the beginning of a series of tournament­s they will be holding this year.
