‘Digital Supercity’ branding eyed for Cebu
With its high capability to lead in the digital transformation, Cebu is urged to brand itself as "Digital Supercity."
“We need to make use more of digital media when we brand ourselves,” advised Tholons Inc., chairman and managing partner Avinash Vashistha in his recent visit to Cebu.
With the relevant role of digital marketing in this generation, Vashistha said Cebu should leverage on this capability.
Robotics process automation (RPA), such as analytics, mobile application testing and digital marketing are some of the new skills most desired by employers in today’s disruptive digital age, said a top official of a global advisory firm.
These skills should be polished by Cebu so it could easily attain its digital supercity positioning.
“Digital is here and that opportunities are great and the number of jobs which require digital talent are immense,” said Vashistha.
RPA is an emerging form of business process automation technology based on the notion of software robots or artificial intelligence (AI) workers.
Vashistha said these new kind of strategies could help Cebu attract high-value jobs, generate more employment augmented by technology, and force companies to innovate.
About 260 million jobs will be augmented by technology as enterprises across the world are actively adopting digital strategies.
Opportunities are also immense in analytics, a process that could translate data into significant insights to grow businesses.
Mobile application testing is also another area of growth on the back of the rising mobile applications that are being introduced in the market every day.
