Sharks suffer another MPBL loss on Cabahug's debut

MOSCOW— England held their
nerve against Colombia to win
their first ever penalty shootout in a World Cup and reach the quarter-finals in
dramatic fashion.
Streak-shooter Patrick Jan Cabahug sparkled with 29 points in his Cebu City debut but his efforts went for naught as the Sharks suffered another loss, this time at the hands of the Parañaque Patriots, 73-81, in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Datu Cup on Tuesday night at the Olivares College Gymnasium in Sucat, Parañaque.
Behind the hot hands of Cabahug backed up by Cesar Catli, the Sharks zoomed to an early 32-17 lead but that was their only bright moment as they floundered in the face of a courageous fightback by the Patriots.
After closing in at halftime 38-39, then grabbing the upperhand after three quarters, 59-56, the Patriots used a crippling 140 run to put the game away, 7056, on a layup by Algin Justiniani with 4:42 left to play.
Harold Arboleda, who once suited up for NLEX Road Warriors in the PBA, topscored for the Patriots with 26 points on a perfect shooting from the field.
Hitting 5-of-5 from the 3-point land and 2-of-2 from close range, Arboleda also hauled 11 rebounds and passed away six assists as the Patriots stormed to their second straight victory for a share of lead with the Muntinlupa Cagers and the Davao Occidental Tigers.
The Sharks, on the other hand, couldn't still find the right winning formula after
