Lolypop denies tandem with Luigi in 2019
Former Mandaue City councilor Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano - Dizon clarified that she has no plans to run for vice mayor yet.
“As of now, no plans pa gyud for 2019,” she said.
Ouano - Dizon clarified this after hearing rumors of a Luigi-Lolypop tandem in the midterm polls scheduled for May 2019.
“There has been no discussion with Mayor Luigi regarding LuigiLolypop tandem for 2019. Perhaps, it’s still too early to speculate,” she said.
She was seen yesterday together with incumbent Mayor Luigi Quisumbing in a postfire reach out activity in Barangay Opao.
“Mag-agad man gud mi ana sa PDP-party gud kung unsay plano. As of the moment, everything is in place. Cong Jonas is in Congress, Mayor Luigi and Carlo naa pa na silay term tanan. Wala pa may mo-graduate,” she remarked.
She said her allies still have remaining terms to serve. Both Quisumbing and Sixth District Representative Jonas Cortes are still on their first term.
Ouano-Dizon, Quisumbing, and Cortes are all members of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan, commonly known as PDPLaban.
Lolypop’s husband, Nixon “Jojo” Dizon, is the incumbent head of the Cebu Province Chapter.
She continued that up to date, the party has not yet decided a lineup for Mandaue City. Among the key persons who will give the "go" signal are their national chapter president Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III and President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
“Everyone is in PDP so honestly wa ra gyuy problema,” she said.
Lolypop ran against Quisumbing for the mayoral post last May 2016. Despite this, she assured that she and the incumbent city mayor are in good terms.
“We have an open line communication. Wala tay problema nilang duha,” she said referring to Quisumbing and Cortes.
At present, OuanoDizon said that she is satisfied with her life as a private citizen.
