BACOLOD CITY — Forty six police personnel in Western Visayas, who are now facing administrative charges, have been placed on a month-long retraining at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City, as part of the internal cleansing program of the Police Regional Office-6.

Superintendent Joem Malong, PRO-6 spokesperson, said that of the 46 police personnel, 19 were assigned to the Bacolod City Police Office and were relieved last month from their respective positions, pending investigations into their alleged involvement in illegal activities, including drugs.

Malong said the Focused Reformation/ Reorientation and Moral (FORM) Enhancement Police training, undertaken by the 46 policemen, was designed by PRO6 to inculcate discipline, help change their attitude and perception towards effective service, and enhance their character and aptitude to become good servant leaders.

She, however, clarified that FORMPolice is not a penalty, but a reminder to its participants of the basic values that a police officer must live by.

Meanwhile, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office is still waiting for a response from the PRO-6 on its recommendation to transfer six of its personnel linked to illegal activities, outside Negros Occidental. The six police personnel relieved from their stations are temporarily assigned at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City.
