We have wanted to expand for so long. We were looking at Medellin, Sogod and Moalboal in Cebu but we fell in love with Anda. This is really paradise.

Marking its 12th anniversary in the industry, Cebu Parklane International Hotel decides to bring its brand of hospitality

to Anda, Bohol. Nestled in the eastern tip of the province is the unspoiled paradise of Anda. It features powdery white sand beaches, pristine blue waters, diverse marine life, untouched forests, enchanting caves, deepblue cave pools, and fascinating waterfalls, among others.

Though rustic, Anda offers an amazing blend of natural wonders, serenity, adventure, culture and history to its visitors. Getting there is not a problem since the town is accessible to airports and seaports.

A best place like Anda deserves a best provider of hospitality and accommodation for its growing number of tourists, which Parklane has been known for. The hotel will be the pioneer of world-class service and amenities in the emerging town, wherein resorts are mostly run by locals.

General manager Cenelyn Manguilimotan says its expansion to Bohol symbolizes a major milestone for the company as it celebrates its 12th year anniversary today.

“We have wanted to expand for so long. We were looking at Medellin, Sogod and Moalboal in Cebu but we fell in love with Anda. This is really paradise,” she said.

The temporary closure of world renowned Boracay Island, Manguilimotan says, opened opportunities for other underrated tourism destinations in the Philippines to showcase their own.

All industry players have flocked the congested Panglao, prompting Parklane to choose branching out in Anda and put the town in the tourism spotlight.

From a city hotel, Parklane intends to be a business resort in Anda. It will take over the East Coast White Sand Resort in Barangay Candabong, which has been operating for seven years and has eleven beach villas. The resort will be renamed to Parklane East Coast Resort and Spa on January 1 next year.

The two-hectare resort, which will be exclusive to the guests, will house 72 well-designed rooms and eight beach villas. It will have 36 rooms for the two buildings.

Manguilimotan said they are eyeing to develop the back portion of the resort into a manmade forest with a bird sanctuary or a butterfly farm.

The guests will get the chance to enjoy the view fronting the beach and the foliage of the forest at the back. The glass walls of the resort will add not only aesthetic appeal but also bring natural light into the indoor areas.

Across the resort will be the parking lot, administrative offices, and staff house. There will also be other buildings for reception, function rooms, spa, diving operator, gym and entertainment room. Tour packages will also be offered.

Parklane East Coast will start constructing in November this year and will be launched on May 15, 2020.

The entry of Parklane in Anda will provide employment and growth opportunities for its locals. It will hire a total of 70 employees, 28 of whom will come from the existing resort. The workers will undergo proficiency training on hotel and accommodation service.

“How we run it here will be the same there. The goal is to teach them how to do it in the industry level. We have invested in their training. It will lift their morale as well as their standards of living,” Manguilimotan said.

She said the owners saw the huge potential and promising development plan of Anda despite the challenges in network signal, water and power supply which Parklane intends to address before opening its doors.

Solar panels will be installed on the roofs to ensure stable power supply. Manguilimotan said the local government will build windmills at a mountainous area of the town by 2019. The hotel is also working on partnerships for desalinating water and strengthening the network signal.

To be distinctively local will be Parklane’s brand positioning in Bohol. Manguilimotan shared they are excited to bring in more tourists to the town and showcase the Andahanon hospitality.

“If we are known here as a hotel in Cebu that stands for Cebu, Parklane East Coast will be a hotel in Bohol that stands for Bohol,” she adds.

Manguilimotan says they are eyeing more expansion projects aside from Anda. In the meantime, the hotel is aimed towards a total facelift of its Cebu hotel by the end of next year.

Currently, the guests rooms for each floor are being renovated for a more relaxing and homey ambience.

Manguilimotan thanked the continued patronage of the guests and clients and the unrelenting support of the Cebuano community especially during its corporate social activities such as the annual Hunat Sugbu Run and the Christmas with the Angels in partnership with The FREEMAN Foundation.

“It just means we are doing something right. We’re not here purely for business but for the community. Cliché as it sounds but we are a company with a heart,” she said.

For more than a decade, Parklane never ceases to improve and reach out to its guests, staying true to its promise on excellent quality of service.
