Alliance marks 6th anniversary, inducts new officers

-

For modern-day socially oriented senior citizens, age is just a number, mixed with joyful, sorrowful ang glorious challenge they love to undertake.

Six years ago, a group spirited and risk-taker senior citizens bonded together and named their group Cebu City Senior Citizens Alliance. It was an organization that provided for them a venue of laughter, camaraderie, and exploration to lessen the ill-effects of age on their mobility.

They said it was a great challenge to create that spark of interest in scaling new heights of happiness for them who may otherwise have no more time for fun and games.

One careful step at a time, under the stewardship of Guillermo ‘Dodong’ Casinillo, the Alliance was able to re-discover every senior citizen’s innate talent for making every one of them mutually happy.

Recently, the Alliance celebrated at the Sacred Heart Center in Cebu City two momentous events of its existence: Its founding anniversary and the oath-taking of its newly elected executive and district officers for the 2018-2021 term.

Mayor Tomas Osmeña, Representatives Raul del Mar (north district) and Bebot Abellanosa (south district), and Councilor Bebs Andales attended the event where they saw each senior citizen in festive Hawaiian attire.

Osmeña administered the induction of the following new officers of the Alliance: Guillermo Casinillo, as president; Ed Batiquin (internal vice president); Rodulfo Cabaluna (external VP); Ester Vequizo (secretary); Perla del Mar (treasurer); Pete del Mar (auditor); and Teresa Manlapaz, and Ramon Tinga (PROs);

District officers: For the South — Erlinda Casinillo (president); Rudy Cabaluna (VP); Esper Vequizo (secretary); Carmelita Visto (treasurer); and Ramon Tinga’.

For the North: Ed Batiquin (president); Pete del Mar (VP); Nene Mendoza (secretary); Perla del Mar (treasurer); and
