- Philstar.com

Tropical Storm Karding is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility Saturday morning but parts of Luzon will continue to experience scattered rains due to southwest monsoon, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

In its 11 a.m. severe weather bulletin, "Karding" was spotted 905 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes.

The tropical storm has maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph. It is moving northwest at 25 kph.

"Karding" did not make a landfall.

The state weather bureau said the southwest monsoon or habagat enhanced by Tropical Storm Karding will continue to bring scattered to widespread monsoon rains over Northern Luzon, Central Luzon and the western section of Southern Luzon.

"In particular, moderate to at times heavy rains is expected over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and Rizal," the state weather bureau said.

"Residents of these areas advised to take appropriate actions against possible flooding and landslides, coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices, and continue monitoring for updates," it added.

Sea travel remains risky over the western seaboard of Luzon, PAGASA warned.
