“The Fore” in Cebu
Fashion e-startup “The Fore” hosted its first trunkshow outside of Metro Manila in Cebu on September 1. The occasion served as Cebu’s introduction to the brand’s take on accessories that double as wearable works of art.
The brainchild of fashion influencer Kim Cam Jones, the brand is essentially an e-commerce platform that highlights limited-edition fashion pieces that are molded from collaborations with various designers. The collections are punctuated by the inimitable markers of distinct and unique designs.
Launched in May this year, “The Fore’s” debut collection draws inspiration from the process-oriented wellsprings of the abstract expressionist movement in the arts.
Dubbed the “Kim Jones × Ken Samudio” collection, Jones worked with globally renowned accessories designer Ken Samudio in completing the collection’s three main lines: “Clonfert,” “The Serra,” and “The Meudon.”
All handmade and oneof-a-kind, the collection’s featured pieces in Cebu were different from the ones that were showcased in “The Fore’s” debut trunk show in Manila, as these were purposely made to be customizable for wearers – to be “configurable” to fit with a wearer’s particulars, so to speak.
In zeroing-in on contemporary adaptations of one of the modernist movement’s popular styles, the brand’s debut collection prefigures what it is all about: To draw all sights on novel designs without turning away from tradition, as it serves as a conduit for emerging designers and entrepreneurs to shine.
