ON SEPTEMBER 25
In line with its commitment and advocacies on education development and workforce capacity building, CCCI will be conducting the Industry-Academe Summit 2018 on September 25 at Arctic Hall, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
Bannering the theme “Strengthening IndustryAcademe Linkage for a Relevant, Competitive & Skilled Workforce,” this summit aims to convene various key economic drivers from the industry, academe and government to discuss workforce development and discuss, understand the rationalization of the Philippine Education System, which is the terminal track to deepen and widen the talent pool pipeline of the economic workforce.
Participants will learn how to rightly match the skills with the qualifications of K to 12 graduates and ensure practical knowledge and experience of students in the Senior High Schools.
Among the speakers are Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman George Barcelon who will talk on the “Paradigm shifts Industry must make in the light of the Basic Education Reform in the Philippines;” Justine Raagas, Philippine Business for Education Program Director for Workforce Development, who will discuss “How academe should reengineer the approach to Basic Education to produce talented and skilled pool of workforce;” and Department of Education Former Assistant Secretary Elvin Ivan Uy will also grace the event as speaker.
Moreover, the results of the Focus Industries Study conducted by the CCCI will be presented.
