Doms Autoparts kicked off its campaign with a 74-65 drubbing of L&T in the open division of the 8th Mayor Teresa ‘Nene’ P. Alegado Fiesta Basketball League over the weekend at the Consolacio­n Sports Complex.

Doms Autoparts trailed for most of the way but rode on a fierce endgame fightback to turn the tables on L&T.

Down 48-50 after three quarters, Romar Ponce, RJ Teh and Mils Anthony Linao sparked a searing 26-15 rally in the windup to vault Doms Autoparts to a flying start in come-frombehind fashion.

Ponce and Teh each scored 16 for Doms Autoparts, while Linao chipped in 14 markers.

Emmanuel Villamor, a mainstay of the Consolacio­n Sarok Weavers in the Governor’s Cup, paced L&T with 22 points, while Paulo Dalumpines and Brevin Keith Padayogdog tallied 17 and 11 points, respective­ly, in a losing cause.

In the Inter-Barangay Seniors Category A, Joseph Godinez, Justin Reuyan, and Aljeru Juanillo had a combined total of 31 points as Poblacion Occidental shackled Casili, 87-77, while Cansaga pulled off a 75-74 squeaker over Tugbongan.

Rey Gonzaga stole part of the show with 29 points backed up by Kendrick Alcover with 18 markers as Casili bested Poblacion Occidental, 77-61, while Clint Gersale, Roniel Tatad, and Angelo Quiapo connived for 38 points as Cansaga edged Tugbongan, 75-69, in other SK Juniors Category A duel.

In the midgets Category A, Matt Andre Estrada erupted for 30 points, John Robert Borja scored 22, and Clare Marcera had 20 points as Tugbongan slammed Cansaga, 80-63, CJ Alilin, Clare Calasang Clare, and Jun Rey Lauron conspired for 37 points as Casili frustrated Poblacion Occidental, 65-58, while Jevee Pepito dropped 24 points as Pitogo triumphed over Nangka, 73-64.

Jeco Alfanta churned out 17 points and John Leemar Naingue has 15 as Tolotolo tamed Panas, 54-68, in the midgets Category B.

On the other hand, Jessie Bathan led all scorers with 23 points as Tolotolo upended Panas, 69-54, in the SK Juniors Category B, while Metenio Tundag and Remegio Dawa finished with 37 combined points as Panas rallied past Tolotolo, 66-59, in the Inter-Barangay Seniors Category B.
