Inspection reveals rusty guns of CPPO SWAT cops

-

Police Senior Superintendent Johnson Almazan, Executive Officer Directorate for Integrated Police Operations- Visayas, is dismayed over the dirty and rusty rifles of the operatives of Cebu Provincial Police Office Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams and the Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC). of a rifle is not a valid excuse that it is rusty because it can be prevented or removed by constantly cleaning it.

Also, it is the sole responsibility of the police officer and not of the supervisor to maintain the cleanliness of their issued firearm.

“The rust kasi, first it does not look good. Imagine carrying a rusty weapon. Second is pwedeng magmalfunction because of the rust,” Alamzan said.

During the formation yesterday inside the CPPO headquarters, Alamzan reprimanded some officers for removing the Kevlar of their bullet proof vests.

“Pano kung nabaril ka kahit naka vest ka? Sisisihin ng asawa at nanay mo si PD (Provincial Director) mo,” Almazan said to one of the members of SWAT.

CCPO director Police Senior Supt. Manue Javier Abrugena is displeased of the result of the inspection.

“Our men will be reprimanded about the negligence in taking care of their firearms. The company commander was reminded to have a regular inspection. Isolated instance pod ito. Sa mga previous inspection naman pod ay they perform well,” Abrugena told The FREEMAN.—
