Almost P4 million worth of drugs and six suspected drug personalities were arrested in separate police operations in Cebu City and Lapu-Lapu City.

Last Tuesday afternoon, operatives of the Cebu Provincial Police Office arrested Stepen Ceniza in his condominium in Barangay Guadalupe and seized more than P3 million worth of drugs.

Police Senior Inspector Alejandro Batobalonos said that Ceniza is a bigtime drug pusher. He was identified by a drug suspect that CPPO operatives earlier arrested.

Police conducted surveillance and at around 2:35 p.m. on Tuesday, a buy-bust operation was done that led to Ceniza’s arrest and the confiscation of 10 medium and one small pack of suspected shabu as well as P8,000 proceeds.

Ceniza also revealed that he gets his supply from a certain Romy Romas who is serving jail time in the Cebu City Jail.

Pressured by cops, Ceniza contacted Romas and the latter agreed to a transaction of 200 grams of shabu.

Another buy-bust operation was conducted, this time in Dimasalang Street, Barangay Pahina Central.

They arrested Jhon Bruce Makilang from Getafe, Bohol, and temporarily residing in Sitio Lawis Barangay Pasil.

During the operation in which a covert policeman posed as buyer, Makilang sensed that he was transacting with police officer.

He pulled out a gun but the policemen were quick enough to shoot ahead, hitting Makilang in the buttocks.

“Pagkahibalo niya nga police iya ka-transact, midagan ni siya ug misuway pusil mao to nga giunhan sa atoang tropa,” Batobalonos said.

Makilang was rushed to Cebu City Medical Center is already in a stable condition. Two policemen are guarding him in the hospital.

Confiscated from Makilang were two big plastic sachets of suspected shabu and P120,000 proceeds.

CPPO Director Senior Superintendent Manuel Abrugena assured that they are now coordinating with officials of Cebu City jail officials to tighten security and stop inmates from becoming middlemen in drug transactions.

“Malaking drug supplier ito (Ceniza and Makilang’s source) kasi nakuhanan natin ng tatlong milyon na drugas. Kaya naman continuous ang ating operations against drugs in coordination with Cebu City Police Office and other agencies,” he said.
