T h e South­west­ern Univer­sity-Phinma lady spik­ers got a strong start in their ti­tle re­ten­tion bid with a dom­i­nat­ing vic­tory over Cebu In­sti­tute of Tech­nol­o­gyUniver­sity in the women’s divi­sion of the 2018 Cebu Schools Ath­letic Foun­da­tion Inc. (CESAFI) vol­ley­ball tour­na­ment held at the Univer­sity of San Carlos gym­na­sium yes­ter­day.

The Lady Co­bras blasted the Wild­cats, 25-18, 2510, 25-22.

Ear­lier, the Univer­sity of Cebu scored a dom­i­nat­ing three-set­ter over Cebu Doc­tors Univer­sity, 30-28, 25-19, 25-23.

In the secondary girls ac­tion, Univer­sity of South­ern Philip­pines Foun­da­tion belles an­ni­hi­lated Cebu Eastern Col­lege, 25-3, 25-5, for their sec­ond straight vic­tory.

USC girls also notched their sec­ond win with a 25-10, 2514, win over CDU, while Univer­sity of San Jose-Reco­le­tos trounced UC, 25-19, 25-16.

Mean­while, Sa­cred Heart SchoolAte­neo de Cebu Magis Ea­gles de­feated Don Bosco Tech­nol­ogy Col­lege, 25-19, 2518; CIT-U pre­vailed over CDU, 25-19, 25-19, while USJ-R up­ended UC, 25-13, 25-23. —
