Benchmarking Mission to Malaysia and Thailand

-

To further strengthen the K to 12 Plus Project, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) in partnership with the AFOS Foundation, will conduct a Benchmarking Mission to Malaysia and Thailand on October 22-27,2018. The study mission will benchmark and network with the Thailand and Malaysia TV ET systems and approaches with the end view of adopting potential best practice elements in Dual VET, Chamber Certification, and In-Company Training.

The visit aims to help enhance capacities of local BMOs, and companies in the improvement of in-company training to substantially contribute in the development of an industry-responsive workforce duly recognized by the chambers/associations through an established Assessment, Certification & Accreditation System (ACAS).

The participating BMOs and company representatives are expected to bring back to their localities a wealth of learning from the Malaysian and Thai experience. These shall contribute to raising awareness of the value of industry participation in technical-vocational training and in improving the image of TVET in the Philippines.

CCCI past president Lito R. Maderazo will lead the delegation as they visit various schools and chambers in preparation to implement a concept involving the chambers/associations and companies to develop capacity and an industry-based certification system.

Moreover, it is a complementary measure to further develop awareness and support the development of demand-oriented practical skills transfer within the project context.
