NEW YORK — Stephen Curry set another NBA record by making seven 3-pointers and finished with 35 points as the Golden State Warriors held on to beat the Brooklyn Nets 120-114 on Sunday.

Kevin Durant added 34 for the Warriors, who appeared on their way to another easy win before the Nets made it close with some sizzling 3-point shooting.

Curry finally turned them back when his final 3-pointer made it 115-108 with 1:07 to play. He has made at least five 3s in all seven games, breaking George McCloud's record of six games in a row during the 199596 season.

But Klay Thompson continued to struggle behind the arc, going 1 for 5 and falling to 5 for 36 this season. He finished with 18 points and still hasn't had a 20-point outing this season.

D'Angelo Russell scored 25 points and Caris LeVert had 23 for the Nets, who made 20 3-pointers in 42 attempts.

Golden State has won four in a row since its lone loss and the previous three were all by at least 20 points. The franchise record is four straight 20-point victories, set by the San Francisco Warriors in 1966-67, and it appeared the Warriors were going to equal that.

Paul George and Russell Westbrook each scored 23 points, and Oklahoma City got its first win of the season.

Nerlens Noel had 20 points and 15 rebounds and Patrick Patterson added 17 points for the Thunder.

Rookie Elie Okobo scored 18 points and No. 1 overall draft pick Deandre Ayton added 16 points and 11 rebounds for Phoenix. Devin Booker, who entered the day as the league's ninth-best scorer at 27.8 points per game, sat out his second straight game with a left hamstring strain.

Oklahoma City's victory left the Cleveland Cavaliers, who fired coach Tyronn Lue on Sunday, as the league's only winless team.

Rudy Gobert and De Andre Jordan recorded their sixth straight double-doubles in six games this season to lead Utah.

Gobert finished with 23 points and 16 rebounds, and Jordan added 12 points, 4 for 4 from the line, 19 rebounds and a career-high nine assists.

The Jazz overcame 18 turnovers and won going away after taking a five-point lead, 82-77, into the fourth quarter.

Donovan Mitchell scored 20 points for Utah. Jae Crowder added 15 points and Joe Ingles had 12. Dennis Smith Jr. had 21 of his game-high 27 points in the second half.

Tobias Harris scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help Los Angeles coast to the win.

Lou Williams added 17 points on his 32nd birthday for the Clippers, who had nine players in double-figures as they shot 54 percent from the field, made 16-of-29 3-pointers, and outrebounded Washington 57-45. The Clippers won for the fourth time in five games. Bradley Beal scored 20 points and John Wall added 18 for Washington, which shot 40 percent and missed 22 of 27 3s. The Wizards are 1-5 this season and have lost 11 in a row to the Clippers in Los Angeles, dating back to Feb. 13, 2008.

Roger Federer claimed his 99th career ATP Tour title but he had to battle to defeat Romanian qualifier Marius Copil 7-6 (7/5), 6-4 in the Swiss Indoors final at Basel.

The top seed claimed his ninth trophy at his home event as he overcame an inspired opponent who took the lead early in each set but was pegged back by the 20-time Grand Slam champion.

Federer will now aim to win number 100 by the end of the season.

“It’s been a magical week for me, a dream run for me,” Federer said, prior to moving onto his traditional post-final pizza party with ballkids -- of which he was one here two decades ago.

“Nine (titles) is a huge number for me. winning that many times here is crazy. It’s been a major week for me in terms of records.”

Federer won his 20th straight match at the tournament and has played in 12 straight Basel finals.

“This was almost a turnaround week for me,” the Swiss legend said.

“Maybe I had to win through fighting. maybe it was different than some of my past victories.

“But winning is fun, winning gives you confi dence. That’s what I need if I want to do well in London, to do my best there.

“But for me now it’s about winning here, I don’t care about anything else. It means the world to me. I’m happy to win in front of my home crowd.”

The 93rd-ranked Copil was competing in the biggest match of his life after emerging from qualifying.
