The Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) has earned over P1 million during the Undas season alone.

The terminal management collected at least P1,041,700 from the bus terminal fees worth P150 for every bus parking and P50 for every bus arrival.

The collection period for this amount started on October 27 until November 4.

Within that period, it was on October 31 that they had collected the most when CSBT earned 12.65 percent of its revenues. It is equivalent to P131,800 from 712 bus trip departures and 500 bus arrivals.

On a regular day, the average terminal traffic would be 350 bus trips which would roughly translate to P45,000 daily revenue.

Due to the high demand of buses during that season, there was an average of 600 buses a day. The demand peaked on October 31 at 712, and the lowest on November 2 at 553.

CSBT Manager Jonathan Tumulak said that there were more passenger arrivals and departure this year compared to last year.

Their records showed that there were a total of 331,260 passengers who departed from the bus terminal, while 256,260 arrived. Tumulak said that this excludes the children who cannot occupy yet a full adult seat.

The said numbers are higher by at least 30,000 compared to their expected passengers.

He cited that the primary reason for the increase was the long weekend given that the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day was a Thursday and Friday, respectively.
