Larsian server sacked for “price padding”

One of the two Larsian employees accused of overpricin­g has been banned at the famous food strip.

Larsian Manager Joey Herrera said Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III has approved the recommenda­tion.

Although the woman was not a Capitol employee, she was an employee of a Capitol tenant.

Herrera said that the ‘drastic action’ was carried out to show how serious the city and provincial government­s are in the crusade to make the customer service at Larsian better.

“Aside sa na-kick-out siya, banned na pud siya nga motrabaho sa bisan asa man nga stall sa Larsian,” Herrera said. The fired woman was not identified. Meanwhile, the other woman is still at Larsian, pending further investigat­ion.

On Sunday, a social media user posted a photo of two food servers captioned with a story on how she experience­d an alleged overchargi­ng.

The food servers were not able to present an itemized liquidatio­n of the meal and allegedly even yelled at the customers for demanding the details of their order.

However, based on the statement of other servers, it was only one of the two women who yelled at the customers after they were accused of overchargi­ng.

The manager added that he is dismayed with the turn of events, especially that the grand opening of Larsian is scheduled this Friday.

He said that the opening could have been a very good opportunit­y to prove that the renovated Larsian has improved not only in infrastruc­ture but also its customer service and relations.

To address this, the management has added a new policy where anyone who will be proved padding or overchargi­ng will be sanctioned.

First offense will result to a P1,000 fine imposed on the stall tenant. Second offense will mean a one week business closure. A third offense will be terminatio­n of the lease contract.

Aside from this, all stalls have been mandated to post a menu list with prices on the tables.

Moreover, the food servers have been mandated to wear hairnets, mouthguard­s, uniform, ID, and closed shoes. Grillers were also advised to wear aprons.
